Pear and Burrata Crostini

A pear and cheese appetizer is a refreshing way to start any meal. Crunchy baguette, the sweetness of pear and honey, a little piquant drizzle of sherry vinegar, and burrata make a great bite.

Ingredients For Crostini With Pears And Cheese

  • Baguette

  • Extra-virgin olive oil

  • Pear – we like Bosc and Bartlett

  • Burrata

  • Sherry vinegar

  • Honey

  • Fresh thyme leaves

  • Flakey salt, for serving

  • Freshly cracked black pepper, for serving

How to Make (Really) Easy Pear And Burrata Crostini

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F with a rack in the center position.

  • Brush the baguette slices with olive oil using a pastry brush. Arrange them on a sheet pan in a single layer. Toast them in the oven until lightly browned on both sides, 10-12 minutes.

  • Transfer the crostini to a serving platter and arrange in a single layer. Top each crostini with a pear slice, a piece of burrata, and a drizzle of the vinegar and honey. Sprinkle with thyme, salt, and pepper. Serve.

How to Store Pear Crostini + Tips

  • Do you drain burrata? Yes! Burrata is stored in brine at the store to keep it fresh and protected. This brine needs to be drained and discarded before using burrata.

  • Bread can be toasted and stored at room temperature in an airtight container or zip-top bag for up to two days.

Pear and Burrata Crostini

  • Yields:  20 Crostini

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced diagonally into ½-inch-thick slices
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 large pear, cored and thinly sliced (we like bosc and bartlett)
  • 8 ounces burrata, drained, torn into even pieces
  • 2 tablespoons sherry vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
  • Flaky salt, for serving
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, for serving

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F with a rack in the center position.

  2. Lightly brush both sides of the bread slices with the olive oil. Arrange on a sheet pan in a single layer. Bake, flipping halfway through, until lightly browned on both sides, 10-12 minutes. Store at room temperature in an airtight container or zip-top bag for up to two days.

  3. To assemble, transfer the crostini to a serving platter and arrange in a single layer. Top each crostini with a pear slice, a piece of burrata, and a drizzle of the vinegar and honey. Sprinkle with thyme, salt, and pepper. Serve.
