What’s in Spinach Artichoke Dip?

Besides being absolutely delicious, we love how easy it is to make spinach artichoke dip. Below we’ve listed the basic ingredients, which you basically just dump together into a bowl and bake until melty! In addition to these simple ingredients, we like to add some extras like fresh basil and loads of garlic for extra flavor, but they’re not a must.

  • Artichoke hearts
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Cream cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Mayonnaise

Sounds easy enough, right? Just imagine, you have some friends stop by at the last minute or you’re in need of an easy appetizer to bring to a football party. What to Serve with Artichoke Dip?

Slices of good, crusty bread (ideally warm bread at that) are our very favorite thing to serve with artichoke dip, but really it’s good with just about anything dip-able. Here are a few other yummy things that make great accompaniments to this dish:

  • Carrots
  • Potato chips (the sturdier, the better!)
  • Tortilla chips (our other favorite)
  • Warm pita bread
  • Pita chips

There really isn’t anything fancy or special about this spinach artichoke dip, except that it’s delicious, reliable, and nearly impossible to screw up.

Is Artichoke Dip Healthy?

Ha. Nice try! You know the answer to this one, right? It’s a big, fat NO. But there’s room for indulgence in life—at least we think so—and a creamy, cheesy party dip is one of our favorite treats. Plus, making something so rich is a great excuse to invite a bunch of friends over—you really shouldn’t eat this all by yourself, so you might as well share.

Bringing to a pool party and want to have the dip available in a crock pot. The mozzarella topping wouldn't work, should I put the whole cup into the dip? Thanks

Yes, jus incorporate it, that will be fine. Hope you enjoy!

  • Loreen

Can you also do it with frozen spinach?

We haven't used frozen before but it should work fine. Hope you enjoy Loreen!

  • Mina

Do you cook the spinach first??

Hi Mina, no. You will use raw spinach, it cooks in the dip.

Can this be assembled the night before and baked the next day??

Made this as a side to dinner on a cold, rainy day. It was quick, easy, and everyone loved it. I did make a slight change by reducing the artichoke content to half of what the recipe calls out.

    great! Glad you loved it!
