We Say Potato (With A Side Of Ranch Dressing)

We almost always have potatoes in our kitchens. They’re easy to pop in the oven (or microwave) for a hearty meal with butter, sour cream, and any other toppings we can find. These homemade potato wedges are an easy alternative to the basic baked potato. We like oven baked potato wedges because they develop crispy edges that are perfect to pick up and dip into another of our favorite things–Homemade Ranch Dressing. You can of course go the classic route with ketchup, or go big with a dip in our Burger Sauce. Maybe you’ll try salsa golf–the Argentinian ketchup and mayo combination. Luckily, there’s no wrong way to dip baked potato wedges.

What to Serve With Potato Wedges?

We love these seasoned potato wedges on their own, but they’re so great as a side with a number of weeknight dishes and of course, don’t forget the Homemade Ranch Dressing! Our light and lemony Chicken Paillard loves crispy oven roasted potato wedges. They’re also great with the savory tartness of our Pineapple Pulled Pork Sandwich, or perfectly fork-tender Steak Bites. You can also make a buffet of our snacky foods, like Baked Buffalo Wings, Jalapeño Poppers, and Beef Sliders with Sun-Dried Tomato Mayo and Spicy Pickles.

How Do You Make Potato Wedges?

How do you crisp potato wedges? Get your oven nice and hot! Preheat it to 450°F. Next, start by giving three large russet potatoes a good scrub. Wondering how to cut potato wedges? We cut them into 1 ½ -inch-thick wedges so they’re easy for little kid fingers to pick up, and this also means that there will be plenty of surface area that gets nice and crispy! Drizzle with olive oil and our seasoning mixture and bake until golden brown, about thirty minutes. Resist the urge to eat these directly out of the oven, and serve with dipping sauce.
