How To Make Yumm Sauce at Home

Dump all of the yumm sauce ingredients listed above into a food processor and blend! But seriously, that’s just about all you need to do. We do have a few tips for you, to make sure that your vegan yumm sauce turns out perfectly:

  1. Peel your garbanzo beans. A little fussy, yes, but WORTH IT. Do it for hummus, too. Drain and rinse the garbanzo beans, and then just sort of rub the beans between your fingers to loosen the thin outer peel. That peel will make your yumm sauce grainy, and removing it ensures a lovely, creamy sauce.
  2. Make a double batch! Yumm sauce keeps for two weeks in the fridge, so we love to make a big batch and keep it around as a quick and healthy way add tons of flavor to everything from salads to sandwiches.
  3. Do blend it for a long time. Edamame and garbanzos will become nice and creamy—promise!—but it takes a little time. Be patient, and stop when you need to to scrape down the sides of your food processor as you blend the sauce into creamy vegan goodness.

I’m allergic to almonds; is there a good substitution for the almond flour in this sauce? Sometimes I use tiger nut flour as an almond flour replacement in baking but wasn’t sure if that would be good in this recipe.

That should work fine, hope you enjoy Valarie!
