The Best Homemade Pancake Mix You’ll Always Have Around
Once you’ve made this easy homemade pancakes mix we’re pretty sure you’ll want to always have it in your cupboard. Pancakes follow a basic formula of the following ingredients: flour, leavening agent (this is what gives them their fluff!) and liquid to blend it together (we use milk and a touch of vanilla to enhance flavor). We also use an egg, which contributes a little bit of everything (in this case structure, leavening, and moisture). If you want something a little more fancy than regular pancakes, try our poofy, buttery Dutch Baby recipe.

Get That Griddle Going!
Recipe for homemade pancake mix easy, check! Now let’s make the pancakes!
In a large mixing bowl, combine the prepared dry pancake mix with milk, egg, and vanilla.
Get the griddle nice and hot over medium heat. Too hot and you’ll burn those ‘cakes, not hot enough and your pancakes will never cook. You’ll know it’s ready when the butter bubbles nicely on the surface of your skillet or griddle.
Pour 1/4 cup of pancake batter into the skillet. Repeat until the pan is filled, but the pancakes are not touching.
Pro-tip: pancakes are ready to flip when bubbles begin to form on the surface of the pancake (about three minutes).
Cook the pancake on the other side until golden brown and no longer gooey in the center, about 1 to 2 minutes longer.
Once your stack is ready for your crowd of eager pancake-eaters, serve with (more) butter and plenty of maple syrup.
