It’s Mother’s Day. You Deserve Sangria. (And a Nap.)

Mother’s Day! It’s OUR day. If you’re at all like me, Mother’s Day can sometimes be filled with mixed emotions, failed expectations, kids with terrible attitudes, bad restaurant experiences and everything in between. Now you know, sometimes I’m a brat and sometimes my expectations are too high leaving me disappointed on what should be a day to celebrate the simple and wonderful (!) joys of motherhood.

...pretty much the best punch...errr...sangria you’ve ever quenched your thirst with.

Rose Sangria

This year however, I’ve been traveling a lot and all I want for Mother’s Day is to be home and be a mom. I want to make a mess in my kitchen with my kids (and have my husband clean it up), get dirty in the garden with them, go for a long walk and listen them complain about the distance, and then when all is quiet, end my day with a good cheese board and this rosé sangria.

If I’m not a mom can I still have this Rosé Sangria?

If I’ve lost you because you’re not a mom, hold tight...I’m getting to the drink. Have you ever tried a rose sangria? I hadn’t either! This stroke of genius was Holly’s idea and the results are oh so good! Rosé is that gorgeous pink wine that is perfect for summer.

And today we’ve loaded that pink wine (rosé) with citrus, spiked it with gin and triple sec, and then topped it off with grapefruit Le Croix to make it all fizzy and perfect. And pretty much the best punch...errr...sangria you’ve ever quenched your thirst with. Mmmmm.

Can you imagine your feet up drinking this over ice already? So can I!

If you’re a mom out there, I just want to say a very special HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! I hope you get a chance to slow down a bit, relax, eat and drink well, and maybe, just maybe sleep in. (That’s all we really want after all, isn’t it?)
