The Easiest Dinner Ever, A True Summer Stunner.

Although we think this salad topped with pieces of hoisin pork tenderloin that’s been grilled to perfection is delicious, that isn’t the reason we sing its praises. We adore this salad so much because at the end of a busy day, you can have dinner on the table ASAP. All this meal requires, effort-wise, is that you cut up a pork tenderloin, marinate it in pre-made hoisin sauce, and toss it on the grill. When paired with a pre-packaged Asian style chopped salad kit, you’ve got dinner done and happiness all around.

3-Ingredient Hoisin Pork Tenderloin Salad

OK, so maybe a bag of premade salad mix doesn’t technically count as one ingredient, but for the sake of ease, we count it as such. All you need to grab from the grocery store to make this chopped salad meal is a bag of “Asian” style chopped salad, a pork tenderloin and a bottle of hoisin sauce. The salad kits labeled “Asian” usually included crispy green cabbage, carrots, celery, green onions, slivered almonds, crunchy wonton noodles, and a delicious tangy, yet sweet sesame ginger dressing. See below for more details!

  • Pork tenderloin: 2 pounds will do ya! If you are only cooking for 1-2 people, you can buy less.
  • Hoisin sauce: You’ll need one cup for the marinade, but we’ve been known to drizzle some extra on our salad too, and we highly recommend that.
  • One “Asian” chopped salad kit in a bag! Here are a few of our favorite brands: Taylor Farms, Good & Gather (you can find this brand at Target), Dole, Fresh Express, or H-E-B.
  • Black sesame seeds & Bell Peppers: These are definitely optional, but if you have them on hand, they make a lovely bonus addition to the meal.

How to Make the Easiest Pork Tenderloin Salad

This hoisin pork tenderloin salad might just be the easiest recipe on our site. It’s even less a recipe and maybe more just a really, really good idea. Born out of the desire for a stupidly quick and easy summer grill dinner that can be easily and quickly made after a busy day. Grab your “Asian” chopped salad kit and let's get started.

  1. Grab your skewers! If using wooden skewers, get those soaking in a bowl of water.
  2. Cut your tenderloin into 16 evenly-sized pieces—about two inches each.
  3. Coat the pork in hoisin sauce and thread it onto the skewers.
  4. Grill the meat for 3 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly charred.
  5. Open salad, place it in a bowl, dress it and add all the toppings (including the grilled pork) and serve to you and all your hungry guests who didn’t have to wait long at all for dinner!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork tenderloin, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup hoisin sauce, plus more for serving
  • 1 bag Taylor farms Asian chopped salad kit
  • 2 red or green bell peppers, julienned (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds (optional)

Method

  1. Add the pork and ¾ cup hoisin sauce to a medium bowl, toss until the pork is coated. Cook right away, or cover and place in the refrigerator for up to 4 hours.

  2. Heat a grill on high. Thread 4 pieces of pork onto double skewers, so that the pork lays flat.

  3. Grill the pork until the internal temperature reaches 145°F on an instant read thermometer and is slightly charred, about 4 minutes on each side. Brush the pork with the remaining ¼ cup of hoisin sauce.

  4. Meanwhile, prepare the salad. In a large bowl, toss the cabbage with ⅔ of the dressing packet. Divide the salad onto 4 plates. Top with bell peppers (if using) and 1 pork skewer each.

  5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds (if using) and drizzle the pork with the remaining ⅓ packet of dressing and additional hoisin sauce if desired.
