White Rice

Ingredients
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed
 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
 - 1 tablespoon butter or vegetable oil (optional)
 
Method
In a medium saucepan, bring 1 1/4 cups water to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir in the rice, salt, and butter, if using, and return to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook until the liquid has been absorbed, 17-18 minutes.
Remove the lid and fluff the rice using a fork. Turn off the heat and let the rice sit on the hot stove for about another 5 minutes before serving.
