Turkey Breakfast Patties
- Serves: 8
- Prep Time: 10 min
- Cook Time: 20 min
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons coconut aminos (see Note)
- 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
- 3 tablespoons minced green onions
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- ½ teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 6 basil leaves, minced
- 1½ teaspoons sea salt
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Method
In a large bowl, combine the turkey, coconut aminos, ginger, green onions, garlic, red pepper flakes, basil and salt. Mix well, then with wet hands, form 16 patties and flatten them between two hands until about ½ -inch thick.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil begins to glisten, working in batches, add the patties to the skillet. Cook the patties until browned on both sides, 6-8 minutes. Continue cooking, flipping occasionally until the internal temperature reaches 170°F on an instant read thermometer, about 4-6 minutes longer. Repeat with remaining patties.
Cool any leftovers to room temperature and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or in the freezer for up to 1 month.
Note: You can swap the 2 tablespoons of coconut aminos with 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari and 2 teaspoons brown sugar.
