Texas Nachos

Texas Style Nachos with steak an chicken, cheese and jalapeño

Ingredients

  • 30 Corn Tortilla Chips
  • 1 (16-ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 tablespoon Taco Seasoning
  • 1 cup cubed grilled steak
  • 1 cup cubed grilled chicken
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded pepper Jack cheese
  • 1 (12-ounce) jar pickled jalapeños, drained (optional)

For serving (optional)

  • Salsa
  • Sour cream
  • Cilantro
  • Red onion, thinly sliced

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F with a rack in the center position. 
  2. Arrange chips in a single layer on a large parchment-lined sheet pan. Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons of refried beans on each chip. Season the beans with the taco seasoning.
  3. Add the steak pieces to half of the chips and chicken pieces to the other half. Top with 1 to 2 tablespoons of cheese per chip. Top the cheese with a single slice of pickled jalapeño.
  4. Bake until the cheese is melted, about 12 minutes. Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, cilantro and red onion slices, if desired.
