Texas Nachos

Texas Style Nachos with steak an chicken, cheese and jalapeño

Ingredients

  • 30 Corn Tortilla Chips
  • 1 (16-ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 tablespoon Taco Seasoning
  • 1 cup cubed, grilled steak
  • 1 cup cubed, grilled chicken
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded pepper Jack cheese
  • 1 (12-ounce) jar pickled jalapeños, drained (optional)

For serving (optional)

  • Salsa
  • Sour cream
  • Thinly sliced red onion
  • Fresh cilantro leaves

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F with a rack in the center position. Line a rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper. Arrange chips in a single layer on the prepared sheet pan.
  2. Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons of refried beans on each chip. Sprinkle with the taco seasoning. Add steak pieces to half of the chips, and chicken pieces to the other half of the chips, if using. Divide the cheddar and pepper Jack evenly across the chips. Add a single slice of pickled jalapeño to each chip, if desired.
  3. Bake until the cheese is melted, about 12 minutes.
  4. Top with salsa, sour cream, red onion, and cilantro, if desired. Serve warm.
