Teriyaki Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, or thighs, cut into ¾-inch pieces
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 ¼ cups cold water
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 3 teaspoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds, for serving (optional)
  • Sliced green onions, for serving (optional)
