Sesame Garlic Ramen Noodles

a plate of sesame garlic ramen noodles topped with green onions and sesame seeds with chopsticks
  • Serves:  4
  • Prep Time:  10 min
  • Cook Time:  15 min

Ingredients

  • 3 (3-ounce) packages instant ramen noodles, flavor packets discarded
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, (optional)
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon chili sauce, (sambal or sriracha)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Add the noodles and cook until al dente according to the package instructions, about 3 minutes. Drain.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar (if using), chili sauce, and water.
  3. Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is glistening, add the garlic and ginger and cook, stirring often, until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add the sauce to the pan and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Stir in cooked ramen noodles until heated through and evenly coated in sauce, about 3 minutes.
  5. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
