Salty Dark and Milk Chocolate Skillet Cookie

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 ounces milk chocolate, finely chopped, plus more for serving
  • ½ cup dark chocolate, chunks
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving
  • Maldon salt, for serving

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F, with a rack in the center position.

  2. In a large bowl combine the melted butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract, until fully combined.

  3. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the bowl. Stir until a dough forms and no dry bits remain. Stir in both the milk chocolate and the dark chocolate chunks.

  4. Press the dough into a lightly greased 10-inch cast iron skillet.

  5. Bake until the center is set, but still a bit gooey, about 18-20 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool slightly.

  6. Top with ice cream, flakey salt, and finely chopped chocolate.
