Preheat the oven to 425°F with a rack in the center position.
Place the asparagus on a rimmed sheet pan or in a baking dish. Drizzle with the olive oil, and sprinkle all over with the salt, and pepper. Spread into a single layer.
Roast, 10 to 12 minutes, or until the vegetables are browned and tender.
Season with additional salt, if desired. Serve warm.
