Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits
- Serves: 10
- Prep Time: 10 min
- Cook Time: 15 min
Ingredients
- Non-stick cooking spray (optional)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 10 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cold whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Method
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, Silpat or coat with non-stick cooking spray.
In a food processor, combine the flour and 6 tablespoons of the butter. Pulse until pea-sized crumbles form, about 20 times. Add the baking powder, baking soda, 1 teaspoon of the garlic powder and 3/4 teaspoon of the salt. Pulse until combined, about 5 more times. Add the cheese and pulse until combined, another 5 times. Add the milk and pulse just a few times until the mixture comes together, being careful not to overmix. The dough will be fairly wet.
Turn the dough out onto a clean, lightly floured surface and evenly divide it into 10 portions (about 1/4 cup each). Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet, spacing the biscuits about 2 inches apart.
Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
Meanwhile, melt the remaining 4 tablespoons butter in a microwave-safe bowl or in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the dried parsley, onion powder, the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt, and the remaining 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder. Stir well to combine.
Spoon or brush the seasoned butter onto the hot biscuits and serve immediately.
