- Cook Time: 35 min
Ingredients
Filling
- 3 pints mixed fresh berries
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Oat Topping
- ¼ cup (½ stick) cold unsalted butter, cubed
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Method
Preheat the oven to 400°F with a rack in the center position.
In a large bowl, gently mix the berries with the sugar, salt, flour, lemon juice and cinnamon, if using. Pour the berry mixture into a 2-quart baking dish or pie pan.
In a medium bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar, flour, oats and salt. Use your hands to combine the mixture until a crumbly dough is formed. Scatter the oat mixture over the berries.
Bake until the berries are bubbling and the topping is browned, about 35 minutes.
Serve warm, divided between bowls, with ice cream alongside, if using.
