How to Make Agua Frescas

3 glasses of watermelon, mango and pineapple agua frescas garnished with fresh mint sprigs and lime wedges

Ingredients

Pineapple

  • 4 cups cubed fresh pineapple
  • ¼ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 2 sprigs fresh mint, for serving, (optional)

Watermelon

  • 4 cups cubed watermelon
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 2 sprigs fresh mint, for serving (optional)

Mango

  • 2 cups cubed mango
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 2 sprigs fresh mint, for serving (optional)

Method

  1. In the base of a blender, combine the selected fruit (pineapple, mango, or watermelon), 4 cups water (3 cups water if selected fruit is watermelon), and sugar. Blend until fully combined.
  2. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher. Add the lime juice and mint if using and stir to combine.
  3. Serve over ice.

Notes

Depending on the sweetness of your fruit, you might prefer more sugar. To add sweetness after tasting, dissolve ¼ cup sugar into ¼ cup hot water. Let cool and stir desired amount into the pitcher. Makes 32 ounces.
