Garlic Bread

- Serves: 8
- Prep Time: 10 min
- Cook Time: 5 min
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened, 2 sticks
- 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp sea salt, only 1/4 tsp if using salted butter
- 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 (1 lb) rustic loaf of bread, French or ciabatta
Method
In a medium sized bowl mix together the butter, parsley, garlic, garlic powder, salt and half of the grated parmesan cheese until fully combined.
Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise, being careful to keep the thickness the same on both sides.
Turn the broiler to HIGH.
Using a knife or spatula spread half of the garlic butter mixture onto one half of the loaf. Repeat with remaining butter on the second half. Set the bread buttered side up on a rimmed baking sheet and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
Place the baking sheet in the oven on the center rack and broil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Watch carefully so that the bread doesn't burn.
Remove the bread from the oven and garnish with a little extra parsley for color. Served immediately.
