Cranberry Relish

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup diced apple, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 1 medium orange, rind on, sliced and seeded
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (from one lemon)

Optional add-ins

  • ½-1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ cup finely chopped walnuts
  • ¼ cup finely chopped pecans
  • ½ cup finely chopped dried apricots
