I love learning new things as often as I can. I'm not talking about things that take a long time to perfect (like learning an instrument or how to crochet, although those things are great, too), I'm talking about learning new useful information and “life hacks” that I can apply to my everyday life immediately. And it just so happens that every time Natalie and I do a smoothie post on this here blog of ours, I find myself learning so much about their health benefits and what I can add to improve my overall well being. So, if you're anything like me, you'll love the information I'm about to share, and if you're not, just indulge me a bit. You'll still totally love this recipe.


The mango in this smoothie not only adds a nice sweetness, but comes with its own slew of health benefits as well.

Mint Green Smoothie

Here goes...By adding a green smoothie containing just one cup of spinach per serving to your daily routine, you are helping to improve your vision and aiding in maintaining healthy skin. Yes, please! Another bonus? A cup of spinach only contains seven calories. Seven! I'll eat that spinach all day! But really, a smoothie of just spinach is hardly something to look forward to, so enter the mango. The mango in this smoothie not only adds a nice sweetness, but comes with its own slew of health benefits as well. Most interestingly (to myself at least), it helps our bodies maintain their alkali reserves. If you are a coffee drinker like myself, adding some mango into your diet is a great way to balance out all that acid you're taking in and treat yourself at the same time. I could go on and on about the health benefits of green smoothies, and this one in particular, but I think you get the point.

Mint Green Smoothie

Mint Green Smoothie

Serves 2

Ingredients

2 cups spinach
4 inches of a cucumber, sliced
1/2 juiced lime (optional)
8 mint leaves
1 cup almond milk or coconut milk
2 cups frozen mango chunks
1 Granny Smith Apple

Method

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed until completely emulsified.
