Continental Breakfast at Home

This post is all about the best no cook continental breakfast spread worthy of family get-togethers and house guests alike.

This post is in partnership with Liberté, an organic whole milk yogurt.

Breakfast is the best meal of the day.

We can all agree on that, right? I thought so. Today, I’m talking all about breakfast, and even better? This post is all about the best no cook breakfast spread worthy of family get-togethers and house guests alike.

Last month I journeyed across the world to New Zealand, along with my husband and three young kids. Some might call me crazy, but for whatever hassle we encountered, the memories we made in those three weeks are too many to count. Seeing the world is one thing, but seeing the world through tiny eyes is next level. (I’m tearing up just thinking about it!) It was a whirlwind trip that wouldn’t have been made possible without our incredible friends who so graciously hosted us in their home. (A big thank you to the Drents!)

For three weeks our amazing hosts showed us around their country, took us to explore all the best beaches and opened our eyes (and our taste buds) to the most delicious food. They also woke up every morning with our kids and made us breakfast. Unreal, right? I could go on and on about our friends’ gift of hospitality, but let’s get back to breakfast. When you have houseguests waking up early and making something really glamorous like these Dutch babies or these pancakes is a given, but what happens if they stay a bit longer (like maybe 18 days long like we did)? That’s a lot of breakfasts and a lot of work. So what’s the answer? Just like the loveliest of hotels, a simple and beautifully prepared continental breakfast may just be the ticket.

Tips for hosting the ultimate continental breakfast

  • Skip anything that involves cooking (except maybe some hard boiled eggs)
  • Source out local pastries that are unique to your area
  • Make sure there is plenty of seasonal fruit
  • Hot coffee is a must
  • Meats and cheeses are a great source of protein, so go euro style!
  • Nuts or granola? Of course, but please buy it. Don’t make your own. This is supposed to save you time, remember?
  • For goodness sakes, don’t forget the yogurt! We choose to go with Liberté yogurt, which you can find at Whole Foods!

How easy is that? Holly and I had a blast putting this spread together, especially when it came to sourcing all of the food. And our standards are high, what can we say? Which is exactly why we were so excited to partner with Liberté yogurt. Their yogurt is crafted with organic whole milk, real fruit and active cultures, but our favorite part is that their flavors are sourced from all over the world. Which is extra special when hosting out of town guests, especially if they are from another country. The texture in each delicious flavor is ideal for continental breakfasts, or even the occasional afternoon snack.

I currently don’t have any out of town guests booked on my schedule, but I’m sure it won’t be too long, as our guest room never stays empty for long. And whether our future guests stay for one night or 18 (!!!), I know that I’ll be sure to have everything needed for an effortless and indulgent continental breakfast on hand.
